Tutorial Text

  • In this tutorial we will be setting up content for our iJoomla Magazine.
  • Begin by navigating to Components >> Magazine >> Content
  • This screen lists the content items in your magazine. Let's create a new content item.
  • First enter a title for the item
  • Then decide whether to show the title or not
  • You can choose the layout for the article. If you choose Vertical the article will be displayed in columns with other articles. If you choose Horizontal the article will be displayed in a row by itself.
  • Then select the edition, category and Joomla content item to tie the item to. iJoomla doesn't create the content itself, but adds additional control to Joomla content items.
  • Then you can add up to 3 quotes to add to the content.
  • You can also add up to 2 images for the content. The first image will be shown on the iJoomla home page, the second will be shown when viewing the content item.
  • Save your content
  • Now we need to do to the Joomla content item and add in the tags for showing the quotes.
  • Navigate to Content >> All Content Items
  • Edit the content item tied to the iJoomla content
  • Enter the tags for the quotes. {quote_top} for the first quote, {quote_middle} for the second, and {quote_bottom} for the third.
  • Save your changes
  • This is what the content item looks like. Notice the styling on the quotes.
