Tutorial Text

  • In this tutorial we will be exploring the JCE configuration
  • Navigate to Components >> JCE Admin >> JCE Configuration
  • You can change the access level of the component if you want to restrict access to only certain user groups
  • You can change the dimensions of the editor once it's loaded
  • You can publish or unpublish the mambot
  • You can choose to run JCE in compressed mode. This will slightly decrease loading times for the editor. There is not full compatability with this, so unless you really need it on it is recommended to leave it off.
  • You can have JCE convert absolute URLs (www.domain.com/path) to relative URLs (/path)
  • You can change how JCE controls entities
  • You can change the text direction
  • You can have JCE automatically convert font tags to span tags
  • You can change the type of attribute to use for font sizes
  • You can set JCE to allow inline editting of tables
  • You can set a list of prohibited elements. JCE will automatically strip these elements out of code.
  • You can add additional functionality to JCE by adding new recognized elements
  • You can create a list of elements that may contain JavaScript events
  • You can choose to load css classes from your default template_css.css file
  • You can also specify an additional css file to process css classes from. This file must be in the same folder as the template_css.css file
  • You can change the settings for new line elements
  • You can set the location of the toolbar
  • You can change the size of the window that opens when you are editing the source
  • You can change the size of the window that opens when viewing a preview of the content
